About Okayc
OKayC is Kathryn Phipps also known as Kay-C. I started showing dogs in 1988. I started with a little Skye terrier named “Gates O’Heaven Amazing Gracie”. I quickly fell in love with dog shows and everything that went along with them. I joined the Conyers Kennel Club in 1990, and became very active. I was a board member of that club for a number of years, during this time I became friends with several people that were showing Shih Tzu, and in 1995 I acquired my first Shih Tzu “Jewel”. I then became involved with The Metropolitan Atlanta Shih Tzu Club, which I am currently serving as the President. Again through the Conyers Kennel Club I became friends with several people who were showing Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, and in 1998 I acquired my first CKCS “Gwena”. I joined the CKCSC of Greater Atlanta and served as Treasurer and Vice President for several years. I am currently serving as the AKC Liaison for the club. All three of the local clubs I belong to became licensed by AKC, and are regularly holding licensed events in the greater Atlanta area. I also belong to The American Shih Tzu Club, CKCSC, USA Inc and Cavaliers of the South.
Location:
I am located in Lilburn Georgia, just outside of Atlanta. My dogs live in my house, And puppies are socialized under my direct supervision by my 19-year-old Son Doug and myself.
Goal:
My main goals as a breeder are to breed as close to the standard as possible and to keep my wonderful temperaments. Breeding to the standard for me also includes health. Testing is done regularly. All my puppies go to new homes with complete instructions on care. My puppies are sold with strict spay/neuter contracts and limited/restricted papers. I breed for myself first; occasionally I have puppies for sale.Check the puppy page for Litter announcements
